Do homework and assignments really increase student's creativity in UK?

Assignments and homework are always a nightmare for every student. This fear of doing assignments and homework is not just confined to the students of UK, but this fear follows the heart of every student around the world in writing an assignment or writing a dissertation proposal. So the first question arises:

Are assignments or homework really a nightmare?

Well, the answer varies from student to student. Some students find it interesting and a domain to increase creativity and some find it really hard. The main reason to be reluctant towards doing assignments is lack of interest and understanding. If students do not take interest in that particular subject, they will always find it difficult in doing homework or assignment or writing a dissertation proposal. Teachers in UK, have to work hard on their teaching skills so that the every pupil in the class will indulge in that topic. It also helps in the learning of students, as students who take interest in a subject; they will eventually grasp things fast. To take interest in a subject, student needs to do the following things:

1)      Be Flexible

While learning anything new, student needs to be flexible. He/she does not confine him/herself to only limited things or only the things that are taught in the classroom.

2)      Seek Assignment or Dissertation Proposal Help

Always be ready to seek help while doing an assignment or writing a dissertation. Wherever the student is stuck, he/she should seek help from fellow student or teacher.

3)      Search Relevant Assignments or Dissertation Proposal Online

While doing an assignment, try to search for relevant materials online. Internet is a vast world, filled with information. So, while doing an assignment or writing a dissertation proposal, try to search assignments or proposal which is relevant to the topic like “assignments related to XYZ topic” or “how to write a dissertation proposal”. This will help the student in writing.

Now the second question arises:

What understanding is required to make an assignment?

First, the student has to make an aim to learn that subject. The communication line between teacher and students should be crystal clear so that all the issues and problems of students related to that subject or teaching style can be communicated easily with the teacher. Once the students start to take interest in the subject, they will understand the core concepts and sometimes students also try to explore new areas in that subject. Now the final question comes:

Do homework and assignments really increase student’s creativity? 

If the above two questions are answered in a positive way that the students do not take assignments and homework like a nightmare and students also takes interest in that subject. If both the answers are in ‘Yes’, then assignments and homework will increase the creativity. Basically, assignments are made to test the thinking capability of students. The material and concepts that student learn in the classroom, teachers ensure that student does not only confine him/herself to those particular areas or concepts. Teachers made assignments in a way that students can mould those concepts in exploring new areas for the topic. Assignment enables students to think at a broader perspective and it also allows them to do research and learn new things. Main objective of the assignment is that the student at least tries to think out of the box and ink those ideas on the paper.
